In October, Microsoft announced changes to UK pricing that will take take effect from 1st January 2017. The reasons given for the price increase is to harmonise UK pricing with the euro level pricing in the EU/EFTA region and the reduced value of the pound against the dollar in recent months.

From 1st January 2017, the prices for all Microsoft Cloud Services including Office 365. Azure, Dynamics 365 etc. will increase by 22%. However, because many of these services are price-protected for the term of 12-month subscription, the price change will only occur at renewal. For example, if you took out a new Office 365 subscription in September 2016, the price you pay will remain the same until September 2017, after which the price for the subscription will increase in line with current levels.

Similarly, Hosted Exchange prices will also increase, but by a smaller amount. From 1st January 2017, Hosted Exchange prices will increase by 12%.

These price increases will impact all suppliers of Microsoft cloud services in the UK including those purchase directly from Microsoft.

We have implemented an update to TaxiOffice's Subscription Management System that corrects several minor issues. This includes a fix to the rare "Site Offline" bug that sometimes occurred when a TaxiOffice site was transitioning between subscription periods.

This update does not affect TaxiOffice directly and there have been no changes to individual TaxiOffice instances. It applies to the underlying system responsible for managing TaxiOffice subscriptions.

If you experience a problem or have a question about using TaxiOffice, please get in touch.

Future TaxiOffice Updates

As we are currently drawing up plans for the next version of TaxiOffice, we are looking for suggestions on how to improve TaxiOffice. This may be either new features or enhancements to existing capabilities. If you have a suggestion, please let us know via our Support Helpdesk.

Last night, we performed maintenance and upgrade to our core mail services. As a result, there are some changes to our mail services.

Service Upgrade

The core part of the work undertaken last night was the upgrading the software of our mail servers. The software upgrade was successful and all mail services resumed normal operation at around 23:00 last night.

E-mail Virus Scanning

All messages that pass through our servers are automatically scanned for viruses. Any message that contains in which a virus is detected is automatically deleted. We cannot guarantee our virus scanning to be foolproof, so we alway recommend that all of our customer utilises Antivirus protection on their computers as well.

Blocked E-mail Attachments

We automatically block e-mail attachments with particular filename extensions. In most cases, the blocked extensions are files that can cause harm if they are opened or downloaded. We've recently updated and expanded the list of blocked file extensions which take immediate effect.

Forthcoming Work

In the near future (date to be decided), we will be upgrading our webmail software. As with nearly all software upgrades there will be a short period period when webmail will be offline as we switch to the new software.
