The Road Ahead

We will be performing some maintenance work to our mail services from around 22:00 to 00:00 tonight (10th January 2014). This work will involve a short period of downtime for all mail services.

In many ways, the IT industry is a lot like Network Rail - we tend to undertake upgrade and substantive maintenance work during the holidays. This year will be no different as we have a busy schedule of planned work to take place between Christmas and the New Year.

For the most part, the upgrade work will not interfere with normal operations. The big ticket item is an upgrade to our mailserver software which will require an unavoidable period of service interruption to all mail services. We're currently looking at around a 20 minute period of interruption, but we hope this will be much less.

We will be upgrading the Webmail software tonight (19/08/2013) between 1900 and 2000. During this time, webmail will not be available.

The webmail was successfully upgraded.

The Data Centre that hosts our THAMES server will be perfoming some routine maintenance to their network equipment between 22:00 tonight and 01:00 tomorrow morning.

During this time, there may be occasional brief interruptions to our services.
