To maintain ownership of a domain, you must extend the registration period through renewal. Renewal may be described as paying for an extended lease.
If your domain is registered with us, we will send renewal notifications messages to your account's e-mail address 45, 30 and 7 days before the domain expiry date is due.
You may renew your domains through My Account. Once logged in, go to My Account and click on the Domains tab. Select your chosen domain and then click on the Renew Domain option.
Some domains are subject to specific renewal restrictions that may govern how and when a domain may be renewed.
We do not automatically renew domain names. It is beholden on the customer to manually confirm the renewal of individual domains.
If you do not renew a domain by the expiry date, what happens next depends on the extension or TLD of the domain. Some domains may be renewed within a 16 grace period at no extra charge beyond the standard renewal fee. Other domains may not be recoverable.
See What is the domain recovery period? for more information about what happens if a domain expires.
Some domains have specific renewal limitations imposed by their controlling registry. These include:

- The only available period for a .uk domain is 2 years
