Introduction
This article describes how to install new modules in Camino.
Backup First
Prior to performing any module installation, it is recommended that you Backup your Camino site. At the bare minimum, a complete database backup should be done.
Installation Steps
Before installing any new module and ensure that Camino is running healthily. To avoid service interruption, you should either take your public-facing site offline or run the installation during a off-peak period.
Some modules may require specific installation steps to be undertaken in addition to, or replacing the installation steps below. Prior to beginning installation, please check the Installation.txt file that may be found in the root of the module's installation folder.
Step 1: Uploading Files
There are two parts to uploading a module's file and folders to your Camino site. The root of the module's installation package should contain a single file and folder, both of whose names should be identical and match the module's identity. For example, the installation package for the CaminoPages modules contains a folder called caminopages and a file called caminopages.dll
Upload as follows:
- The folder should be uploaded to the /extensions folder of your Camino site
- The DLL file should be uploaded to the /bin folder of your Camino Site.
Once all of these files have been uploaded, proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Running the Installer
- Log into Camino Administrator
- Go to the Modules Manager (Dashboard > Modules)
- At the top of the page there should be a table listing New Modules. Click on the Install link next to the relevant module you wish to install.
- Depending on the complexity of your module and whether there are any database changes, module installation may either take between 2 and 30 seconds.
- Once installation has completed, the new module will be listed in the Installed Modules table. You should also see a new entry in the left-hand menu for the new module.
