TaxiOffice Android App Requirements and Installation Notes

The TaxiOffice Android App is used for messaging between drivers and their taxi's office. It also allows the driver to send the location of their device to the TaxiOffice server which allows their taxi office to track the driver's movement in (almost) real time.

Below are requirements and instructions on how to install the TaxiOffice App on your Android device.


  1. Your device should be running Android 2.2 (Froyo) or above. We recommend running the App on the latest version of Android.
  2. You must have the Google Play Store installed on your Android device.
  3. For pre Android 3.0 devices the user may be asked to create a Google account. A Google account is not a requirement for devices running Android 4.0.4 or higher.
  4. Your device must be connected to the internet for the App to work.

Installation Instructions

  1. Download the TaxiOffice App from our website (
  2. On your device you will have to change a setting to allow installation form unknown sources or you will not be able to install the downloaded App on your device. The location of this setting depends on the version of Android you are running.
  3. Once the above setting has been changed. Click on the .apk file to install the App on your device.
  4. Once installed run the App and you will see the Login screen.
  5. On first installation you are required to anter your TaxiOffice server URL in a text box. This URL will be in a format as follows, Your taxi office will provide you with this URL and your log in details.
  6. Enter the above details in the text boxes provided and click on the Login button. The App automatically encrypts and saves your log in details so you don't have to enter them everytime you start the App.
  7. If you're running your App for the first time, you'll have to register your device with the TaxiOffice server before sending and receiving messages. Click the Register Device button in the middle of the screen. If registration is successful you'll be taken to the Messages screen.
  8. You are now up and running. You may send and receive messages from your taxi office as long as you have an active internet connection.
