Default documents are the files that our servers will use when someone accesses your site without specifying a filename; for example: www.calzadamedia.com

Our servers support multiple default documents so if one file is not present, another will be used. You can configure which files can be used, and the order in which they are used through the Hosting Control Panel. The standard default documents are:

  • Default.htm
  • Default.asp
  • index.htm
  • index.html
  • iisstart.htm
  • default.aspx
  • index.php

You may add, remove and manage the list of default documents on a per website basis (subject to hosting plan limitations). To manage the default documents for a website, follow these steps:

  1. Log into the hosting control panel at http://cp.calzadamedia.net
  2. Under the applicable hosting space, hover your mouse cursor over the Web icon and then select the Web Sites option from the menu that will appear to the right
  3. From the list of Web Sites, click on the name of the site you wish to manage
  4. Under the Home Folder tab, edit the contents of Default Documents textbox
    1. At least one default document must be specified and it must have the file extension of either .htm, .html, .asp, .aspx or .php
  5. Click on the Update button to save any changes.
