Overview
This article provides configuration settings for connecting to a Hosted Exchange mailbox using either POP3 or IMAP.
Introduction
If you are unable to use Microsoft Outlook to access your Hosted Exchange mailbox, you may access email messages using any POP3 or IMAP email client. Popular examples include Mozilla Thunderbird, Opera Mail and Windows Live Mail.
If you connect using either POP or IMAP, you will only be able to access email messages. Other Hosted Exchange services like Contacts, Calendars and Public Folders will not be available.
POP3
Please note that we do not provide IP addresses for mail servers. We use a range of available servers on the cloud network to deliver and receive messages.
Important: Email clients that access mailboxes using POP tend to delete messages on the server once they have been downloaded. To prevent this, you will have to change or enable a setting within the email client's configuration to Leave messages on the server once downloaded (or words to that effect). Please consult the documentation for your chosen email client on how to do this.
