Overview

This article provides a guide to configuring Mac Mail to access your Hosted Exchange account.

Important Information

We do not support accessing Hosted Exchange services with Mac Mail. When recommend using either Outlook 2011 for Mac or Outlook Web Access (OWA).

Mac Mail only allows mailboxes upto 2GB in size.

Hosted Exchange with Mac Mail

1. When opening Mac Mail for the first time, you will be greeted by the a screen where you will need to input your personal details:

  • Full Name: The name you wish to have displayed on e-mails
  • Email Address: The user's e-mail address
  • Password: The user's password

2. Once these fields have been entered, click on Continue

3. Next, you will to enter the Incoming Mail Server details.

  • Account Type: Exchange
  • Description: A description of the mailbox usage.
  • Incoming Mail Server: cas.messageexchange.com
  • Username: The user's e-mail address
  • Password: The user's password
  • Outlook Web Access Server: cas.messageexchange.com

4. Click on Continue

5. Next, you will need to enter the Outgoing Mail Server details:

  • Description: A description of the mailbox usage.
  • Outgoing Mail Server: cas.messageexchange.com
  • Use only this server: Ticked
  • Use Authentication: Ticked
  • Username: The user's e-mail address
  • Password: The user's password

6. Click on Continue

7. You will now see the Account Summary page. Double check your information and then click on Create.

Notes

  • Mac Mail only provides basic Exchange support and will not provide full functionality for the Hosted Exchange environment as it does no synchronise Calendar, Contacts, Tasks or Rules
  • As Mac Mail does not provide access to the majority of content of Hosted Exchange, we would always advise the the use of Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac.
