What is happening?
As part of alignment with Registro.it NIS2 requirements, there are changes to how contacts are handled for .IT domain names. These changes will take effect from 23rd November 2026.
What is changing?
- The Fax field is becoming optional and so is no longer required for .IT contacts. If it is provided, it will be ignored and not sent to the registry.
- Admin and Tech contacts become optional. If supplied, they will be ignored.
- Registrant Name and Organisation must match for all contact types. This already applies for .IT domains with registrant type Individual.
What .IT domain holders need to do
Please make sure your .IT registrant contact details are updated with matching Registrant Name and Organisation values.
